According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), coaching means

partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

WorkinEnglish’s teaching and training approach, developed and perfected over the years, is based on a combination of the latest advances in second language acquisition (SLA) and coaching skills, such as:

  • co-creating the relationship
  • active listening
  • powerful questions
  • direct communication
  • creating awareness
  • planning and setting goals

Thanks to our constant support, the participants feel free to experiment, take risks and make mistakes, improving their ability to gain new insights about the language and its most appropriate use.

All in English

All communication takes place in English, with a full immersion that allows you to constantly refine your communication skills.

Ad hoc

The study materials are tailor-made: a wide range of technical and didactic materials, which recreate realistic, practical and interactive situations, simulations, real-plays, debates and presentations.

Open Communication

There is continuous communication between the language coach and the participant to select the most relevant activities and to adapt objectives and resources, where necessary.

Multi-channels

The courses are organized both in presence and online, with different platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Skype for Business, Webex etc.

With client-companies

  • 1

    Identify

We identify, alongside the HR department and through business mapping, the English level each role should achieve in order to carry out their job effectively.

  • 2

    Evaluate

We evaluate the English level of the selected employees using the Oxford online smart placement test, integrated with a speaking assessment with our Cambridge examiners.

  • 3

    Analyze

We analyze the extent of the gap, if any, between the employees’ current level of English and their assigned target level.

  • 4

    Create

We create a fully tailored training pathway for individuals and groups, also considering the frequency and intensity best suited for each company.

With the participants

  • 5

    Adjust

We regularly adjust the training pathways to incorporate any changes or additional requests from the company or the participant.

  • 6

    Check

We check ongoing progress and, with the participants, the smart and manageable goals they set to be achieved every term.

  • 7

    Integrate

We integrate into the course a parallel structured self-study pathway to accelerate the participants’ progress and optimize costs for the company.

  • 8

    Encourage

We encourage the use of an educational platform, where each participant can interact in English with other intra- or inter-company participants.

  • 9

    Motivate

We motivate our participants to become independent, curious and engaged, thus promoting learning even outside the formal space of the sessions.

ICF - International Coaching Federation

The founder and didactic director of our coaching hub are ICF certified coaches and the concepts and practical techniques of coaching approaches are shared with the rest of the team.

Language acquisition does not require extensive use of conscious grammatical rules and does not require tedious drill. Acquisition requires meaningful interaction in the target language - natural communication - in which speakers are concerned not with the form of their utterances but with the messages they are conveying and understanding.
